Gold Mine in central western Mauritania

President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr Akinwumi Adesina, on a visit to Mauritania in 2022. The African Development Bank has been a key partner in Mauritania’s journey. The Bank has invested heavily in SNIM’s infrastructure, including a $46.9 million loan to widen the access channel to the mineral port of Nouadhibou.

African Economic Outlook - The report unveiled at the Bank’s Annual Meetings on Thursday, May 30th 2024, in Nairobi, described Africa’s growth potential as ‘remarkable’. The continent will retain its 2023 ranking as the second fastest-growing region after developing Asia in 2024 and 2025.
