AfDB is "Most Transparent Development Organization in the World"

The African Development Bank - Sovereign Portfolio has retained its top spot in the 2024 Aid Transparency Index - an index that tracks the transparency of the largest international aid organisations. According to "Publish What You Fund" (the global campaign that publishes the index), the African Development Bank - Sovereign Portfolio retained its top spot in the Index with an impressive score of 98.8 out of 100. In second place is The Inter-American Development Bank with a score of 96.3, followed by the US Millennium Challenge Corporation, which came third with 93.0. Dr Akinwumi Adesina., African Development Bank Group President, said: ''...The rating of our sovereign portfolio as the most transparent development organization in the world for the second consecutive time, is simply extraordinary... It is a testament once again to the commitment of the Bank's Board, management, and staff to continuously improve the disclosure of aid flows by providing consistent, high-quality, and easily accessible data..." The African Development Bank's sovereign portfolio climbed four places in the ranking in 2022 to top the Aid Transparency Index in 2024, setting the standard for high-quality data publication. For a second time running, the result highlights the AfDB's continued effort and prioritization of good quality data publication.
