Nigerian Striker Lookman Wins Africa Player Of The Year Award

Nigeria's Italian-based striker, Ademola Lookman, has won the Confederation of African Football's prestigious Player of the Year Award 2024, making him the second consecutive Nigerian to do so after Victor Osimhen. Analysts say Lookman's remarkable performance on Nigeria's senior national team, the Super  Eagles - especially during the last African Cup Of Nations - coupled with an outstanding season with his Serie A side Atalanta - made the 27-year-old a favorite for the award.

Zambia's Barbra Banda was named Player of the Year of the women's category at the CAF ceremony in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh.
